The Source of Cancer’s Sense of Security: Emotional Understanding and Acceptance

Cancerians are like precious stones, both tough and fragile. Externally, whether in work-related social situations or in unfamiliar environments, they can exude a powerful presence. They are capable of handling things and possess a gentle yet strong demeanor. 

Sometimes, they can be quite deceptive, and it’s hard to tell that they are a water sign, sensitive and prone to mood swings. Indeed, Cancerians have the sensitivity and delicacy typical of water signs, as well as a strong sense of empathy. As long as they want to, they can deeply understand the feelings of others.

So, internally, especially in relationships, Cancerians no longer show their tough side. They are willing to take off their layers of armor and reveal their softest hearts and most genuine emotions to the people they love. Not having to pretend or disguise themselves is the emotional state that Cancerians need most. 

Cancerians are very good at accompanying others in relationships. They are willing to cry with you when you’re sad, laugh with you when you’re happy, and stand by your side whenever you need their support, offering you the most support and help they can.

In relationships they truly care about, Cancerians are willing to be the ones who give more and make more sacrifices. Even after getting married or staying with their partners for a long time, they are willing to give up more to make the partner or the relationship more stable. This includes taking better care of, showing more concern for, and tolerating their partner’s family members.

Love me, love my dog. This is the most obvious manifestation of Cancerians in love. Your emotions become my emotions. I’m willing to do everything you like to do with you. I sincerely hope that the family and friends you care about can be happy. Cancerians can make so many sacrifices for love and the people they love. 

However, the source of the sense of security they need most in relationships is that the person they’ve chosen can understand their emotions, notice their mood changes, and know why they feel the way they do. 

To put it mildly, even if the other person doesn’t notice the emotions of Cancerians, as long as when Cancerians show their emotions or express negative feelings, the other person doesn’t rush to deny their emotions, but tells them that it’s okay. They can show their vulnerability and sensitivity, and that they will always be by their side during all their sad moments, understanding and empathizing with them.

If someone can do this, it’s enough to make Cancerians feel at ease. Because Cancerians can easily sense the emotions of others and are also easily influenced by the emotions of those around them. In front of outsiders, they will temporarily “turn off” their emotional receptors to calm themselves and not be affected by those unimportant emotions. 

But the only reason they can do this is that they have a haven to return to. In that haven, Cancerians can truly express and release their emotions, and the other person will accept them.

So, the sense of security for Cancerians comes from having their emotions understood and from firmly believing deep down that the other person won’t leave them because of this. 

Cancerians long for acceptance and understanding. They need the other person to be firm, patient, and gentle when facing their true selves. A tender heart can show its strength only when it’s embraced by another heart.
